DANCER AUDITIONS

DANCERS WANTED Seeking male and female dancers 14 years of age and up trained in creative movement, contemporary and/or modern dance technique with a background in hip-hop and jazz. African dance and stepping are also a plus.

Synopsis Written and Directed by Herbert Bowens, featured dancer in Stomp the Yard and Drumline, The Carousel is a Poetry Based Musical Stage Play about Cierra and her search for her creative voice. Cierra is an intelligent young lady who just can’t seem to live up to her full potential. The final draw comes when unable to complete an important task Cierra is transported to a magical place called “The Carousel” the place where unfulfilled dreams go. While exploring “The Carousel” Cierra meets Ma Stanza and the other inhabitants of “The Carousel” who teach her how to finish what she starts, to believe in her dreams and fight for her voice in the world. But before Cierra can return home she’ll have to outwit an entire poetry slam team with her poetry and rhyming skills in the battle of her life.

Advocate Arts seeking dancers ages 18-22 for Second Company.

  • Ballet class, contemporary combination, interview to follow.
  • We almost exclusively hire First Company members directly from Second Company.
  • Second Company paid for performance.
  • 15 hour commitment per week- class and rehearsal.

Advocate Arts Seeking Ballet Mistress for Current Season

Advocate Arts professional dance company is seeking a Ballet Mistress.
Applicants must be able to teach ballet at a professional level
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10-11:30am, and would need to be
available to stay until 2pm once a week to clean repertory. Applicants
should have professional dancing and/or teaching experience. Email a

Lawrenceville, GA.

Internships

T. Lang Dance Internship

T. Lang Dance is currently seeking two Development/Administrative interns for our Fall 2012 -2013 season. Candidates must be self-motivated, creative, organized, and have impeccable/reliable work ethic. Applicants should have an interest in learning/ honing their arts administration skills.

Interns will have the opportunity to learn about non-profit dance and work closely with a small staff. Interns will help T. Lang Dance prepare for an upcoming tour for the 2012-2013 season. A commitment of 10 -15 hours a week required- hours will be conducted on site (T. Lang Dance secret headquarters!)  Must be available September 1st- December 14th with the possibility of extending. Interns must live in or near the Atlanta area. 

Interns will assist with special events, scheduling, researching grants and fellowships, assisting grant writer, mailing and follow ups, marketing and provide administrative assistance to General Manager and Artistic Director.

Qualifications:
-Superb attention to detail
-Responsible, reliable and efficient
-Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English)
-Social media fluency
-Proficiency with MS Word, MS excel, Photoshop and general internet proficiency
-Background in the arts is preferred

Compensation:
-academic credit

-access to T. Lang Dance company class and T. Lang's Sweatshop workshops

Unpaid, but college credit is available. Schdule is flexible for both starting and ending dates, and amount of time involved per week. Working remotely is possible.
